Founder Donie Yamamoto is named Tory Burch Foundation Fellow

American fashion designer, businesswoman, and philanthropist, Tory Burch, is the Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of her own brand, Tory Burch LLC. As an entrepreneur, Tory Burch always felt the desire to support other women who may not have the financial means, business and community support needed to create and sustain a thriving business. In 2009, she created the nonprofit Tory Burch Foundation to support the empowerment of women entrepreneurs in the United States. As the Foundation grew, she created the Foundation Fellow program in 2014 to extend her outreach and enable her Foundation to help empower a chosen group of women to help themselves. The Fellow program continues to grow and now offers mentoring, networking and entrepreneurial education as well as an opportunity to access affordable loans and funding.
In May of 2019, Donie Yamamoto was one of the 50 Fellows the Foundation selected for the 2019 Fellow program. As a member of the program, Donie received:
- A four-day workshop series at the Tory Burch Offices in New York City
- One-year Fellowship with the Tory Burch Foundation and access to an online peer-to-peer network of women entrepreneurs, industry influencers and resources
- $5,000 grant for business education
