The basics
The National Animal Supplement Council has worked since 2001 to raise the bar for companion animal supplements. The Quality Seal is only awarded to companies that pass its full audit process, and it has to be renewed, not just earned once.
Seeing it on a product means a manufacturer has been checked, not just trusted.
Why it matters
Earning the Seal required a full third-party audit of our manufacturing practices: facility standards, ingredient handling, contaminant testing, the whole process. Finished products are tested independently to confirm what's on the label is what's actually in the bottle.
That's the baseline we think every pet supplement should meet, and most don't.
The Seal means we operate under a documented Quality Control Manual with standardized procedures at every stage: sourcing, formulation and production.
Consistency isn't glamorous, but it's what determines whether a supplement works the same way the tenth time as it did the first.
Compliance also covers labeling accuracy, including the caution and warning language recommended by the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine and the NASC Scientific Advisory Committee.
