Celebrate National Dog Moms

We’re so lucky we get to celebrate National Dog Mom and Mother’s Day the same weekend! Not only do we love our families, our kiddos, but we also love our dogs.

Our furry friends are always there to make us happy, give us love when we need it and have great 1-way conversations! LOL They will, almost always, listen to what we have to say and not roll their eyes like the kids!

Many women today are choosing to have a dog instead of children. These women, whom we call dog moms, go above and beyond for their fur-babies. Being a dog mom is just as meaningful as being a mom of children. Fur babies depend on us for so much, although one advantage is we can leave them home while we go out with family and friends and not have to find a babysitter.

National Dog Mom’s Day is always celebrated on the 2nd Saturday in May, right before Mother’s Day. It was founded in 2018 by Dig, a dating app designed to match up dog-loving singles. According to the Dig website, the holiday was established “to thank dog moms, foster dog moms, and future dog moms for all of the love they give to pups.”

So whether you’re a dog mom or a mom of children, be sure to take the time to celebrate this day with your loved ones, whether they are furry or the human type. All of us here at Vital Pet Life are wishing you and your family a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!
